The tanning district of Arzignano, on the one hand, is renowned for its production value, frenetic activity and entrepreneurial dynamism. Unfortunately, on the other hand, it is also a picture of large traffic, often congested, especially at peak times.
To counter this issue, one must choose sustainable mobility. When the weather permits, we should do the same of our colleague Marco who gets on his bicycle, launches the ecoactive application on his mobile phone and, in doing so, earns points that allow him to get coupons to cash in at affiliated shops in the area.
“I saw that it is possible to use the cycle path – explains Marco – you must clearly pay attention at some intersections, and a direct connection from the embankment would be needed to make access to the industrial area safer”.
When asked how the system works, he answered, “Quite simply, the application records the mileage which is equivalent to shopping vouchers that are collectable at the municipal offices”.
The vouchers can be used in partner shops, such as many grocery stores in the area. The project will continue until 30 June 2023. Relevant information can be found on the website www.ecoattivi.it. We hope it will be renewed and that the local administration will consider building a connecting ramp from the cycle path to the industrial area; it would certainly lead many more people to consider the sustainable commute option.
